Puzzle League is Nintendo's name for the Panel de Pon family outside Japan: Pokémon Puzzle League on the N64, Pokémon Puzzle Challenge on the Game Boy Color, Planet Puzzle League on the DS. The series has been quiet for a long time. Planet Puzzle League (2007) was the last major entry, and its online play ended when Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection closed in 2014. Pokémon Puzzle League is back on Nintendo Switch Online with the Expansion Pack, but a match there needs two Switches and two subscriptions. A browser game fills the gap: open a link, share a room code, play.
The rules are the ones you know. The stack rises. Swap panels sideways to line up three or more. Four or more at once is a combo and sends garbage rods. Clears that fall into new clears build a chain, and a chain sends one full-width slab, one row shorter than the chain count. Every clear buys stop time. Top out and you lose. Cascade Puzzle's engine is tuned to the classic Normal preset, and the mechanics reference publishes every timing it uses.
Skill chains, telegraphed garbage, the one-row peel and the danger-zone comeback all carry over. The parts that do not are the Pokémon and the 3D board. In their place: a ladder of eight bots that play their own boards, online matches at a fixed speed for both players, and a daily puzzle mode with a streak.

- Versus ladder: eight bots, Sprout to Master, each sending real garbage from real clears.
- 1v1 online: Quick Match against whoever is waiting, or a private room for a friend.
- Daily puzzles: Puzzle League's puzzle mode made daily. Three boards a day, each solvable in an exact number of moves.

How it differs from Pokémon Puzzle League
- No Pokémon, no trainers, no voice clips. Six shapes on the panels and a bot ladder with eight opponents.
- No 3D mode. The board is the classic flat six-by-twelve stack.

Can I play Pokémon Puzzle League online?

Is Puzzle League the same as Panel de Pon?
