Tetris Attack is the 1996 SNES release of Panel de Pon, with Yoshi's Island characters in place of the fairies. It shares nothing with Tetris beyond the licensed name, and that name is why it has never been re-released and is not on Nintendo Switch Online. The original survives on cartridges and emulators.
Cascade Puzzle runs those rules in a from-scratch engine tuned to the classic Normal preset: the 49-frame flash before a pop, the 9-frame hover that makes chains possible, the combo garbage table, the K minus 1 chain formula and the original rise-speed curve. The mechanics reference lists every number.
What that means in play: a 4-combo sends a three-wide rod, a 4-chain sends a full-width slab three rows tall, a chain clear freezes your rise for three seconds, and a clear made while topped out freezes it for seven. Skill chains work. Garbage is telegraphed before it lands and peels one row per adjacent clear. If you had a favourite Tetris Attack habit, it still works here.

- Versus ladder: eight bots from Sprout to Master. Each one plays its own board and sends real garbage from real clears.

How it differs from Tetris Attack on the SNES
- No Yoshi, no story, no character stages. The opponents are eight bots with distinct skill levels, and the finale is beating Master.
- Six shapes on the panels instead of the SNES art. Same colour logic, same board size.
- Online versus against a real person, with room codes and Quick Match. The SNES only ever had two controllers on one console.

A chain you extend by hand. When a panel is still falling from an earlier clear, swapping it into a new match keeps the chain going instead of starting a fresh combo. Cascade Puzzle follows the same rule as the original.

Yes. Drag a panel sideways to swap and hold the raise button to push the stack up. The same engine runs on desktop with arrow keys, Z or Space, and Shift.
