Versus Mode — Real-Time 1v1 Block Battles
Versus is a real-time 1v1 mode in the tradition of Tetris Attack and Panel de Pon. Both players work a stack that rises continuously from the bottom, and there is no move limit and no board to empty — only the rising stack and the clock. The first player whose stack reaches the top loses.
Clearing combos and chains drops garbage blocks onto your opponent's board. Chains are the strongest attack: a chain sends one full-width slab several rows tall, while a combo sends only a thin rod. Every clear also briefly freezes your own rise, so attacking and defending are the same action.
Ways to play versus
- Bot ladder — eight rungs from Sprout to Master. The bots play their own board and send real garbage from real clears, not scripted attacks.
- Quick Match — a real-time online game against whoever is waiting.
- Room code — create a private room and send the code to a friend.

Frequently asked questions
What are garbage blocks?
Garbage blocks are solid slabs dropped onto your board when your opponent clears a combo or chain. They cannot be matched directly — clearing a normal match beside a slab peels off one row and turns it into ordinary blocks.
Is Cascade Puzzle versus like Tetris Attack?
Yes. It follows the same lineage as Tetris Attack and Panel de Pon — a continuously rising stack, horizontal swaps, and combo and chain clears that send garbage to the opponent.
Can I play versus against a friend?
Yes. Create a private room and share the code, or use Quick Match to play whoever is waiting. Matches run on rollback netcode, so your own inputs apply with no added delay.
